OSCAR HISTORY: Irving G. Thalberg Award Recipients
The Academy states that the Thalberg Award is a special Academy Award given to a creative producer whose body of work reflects a consistently high quality of motion picture production. It was a way to honor film producers, those film artists who often start up the whole packaging of all a film's elements, once they had achieved a consistent level of high quality motion pictures. Not awarded every year, it's definitely one of the top honors in the film industry for producers, and here were the ones so honored by the Academy.
